Event Details

Estimation is an exercise we do on all projects Agile or not.  Agile projects tend to take a more team-oriented consensus approach to estimating.  If you're on an Agile project and want to learn more about estimating or even if you work in a traditional project management structure but are looking for new techniques you might find this workshop interesting.  It also would be a good refresher for anyone out there who's been doing estimating for a while.

Learn about group estimation techniques.  Learn about story pointing and the advantages it has over traditional man hour estimates.  Discover how to create a backlog, use velocity to commit to a release plan and deal with epic stories (that are too big to estimate).

We will work through a hands on exercise covering the following topics:
  • Release Planning
  • Story Points
  • Planning Poker
  • Sprint Planning
  • Metrics and Reporting
